In those days most garages had a small petrol sales forecourt, sometimes only just wide enough for one car at a time, with attendant service and a "top up your oil,sir?". Cars were notoriously unreliable and always breaking down, hence the large number of small workshops throughout the country and the importance of motoring clubs, notably the RAC and AA. Nowadays cars are considerably more reliable, fuel efficient and comfortable, and at our dedicated Lindfield showroom we are proud to offer the best in German engineering – complete with RAC warranty. Although the motor trade is no longer our core business, we have maintained contact with our motoring roots and still have 12 garages, showrooms and paintshops in the portfolio.
